CITY NO.2

FUTURE IMMIGRANT DREAMING

In the contemporary era marked by globalization, immigration stands as a crucial topic for both countries of origin and destination. Besides the physical relocation, it also involves the migration of cultures, ethnicities, languages, religions, and customs.

There are about 281 million international migrants globally in 2020, which accounts for around 3.4% of the world's population.

While the expansion of globalization and the emphasis on multiculturalism, still we can see conflicts between the host and immigrant communities.

City No.2 is a thesis studying conflicts between immigrants and host communities in the host cities. It explores the multifaceted conflicts and challenges between immigrant and host communities.

City No.2 offers no solutions on the topic; rather, it serves as an exploration into the intricate weaving of the urban fabric, highlighting the fragility of our urban areas as they are influenced by various factors.

The visual finalization of this thesis topic is a half-critical and half-speculative design project: Sirkit Post
